Why choose Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines No Fly Cruises from Dover?
Fred. Olsen’s ships are of a small to medium size by today’s standards and often appeal to passengers who don’t like the idea of flying as they offer round trip cruises to a growing number of UK ports including Dover, Southampton, Newcastle, Liverpool and Leith.
On board you will discover a British atmosphere and a high standard of accommodation with a friendly ‘home from home’ feel.
The crew will often remember your name and drink preference and this helps to attract a high level of repeat business which they are well known for.
Cruising aboard a Fred. Olsen cruise, you will find that you are treated as individual rather than a cabin number.

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines Dress Code:
In recent years, Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has simplified it’s dress code to a more relaxed ‘Smart Casual’ affair for the majority of evenings aboard their ships. With the new ‘Smart Casual’ dress code, gentleman can continue to wear a jacket and tie, or equally they may prefer to opt for an open-necked shirt, with Chinos or smart, dark-coloured jeans. For ladies, the choice could be an elegant dress or casual separates.
Traditional ‘Black Tie’ ‘Formal Nights’, continue to be a part of the cruise experience as enjoyed by many passengers and will usually be featured three or four times (often sea days) during a two-week cruise.
All Fred. Olsen cruise ships feature a casual dining experience for those guests who do not wish to join the formal evenings. Dress code for these restaurants is smart casual every evening.
‘Theme Nights’ continue to operate such as ‘Tropical’ and ‘Red, White and Blue’, with dedicated shows and activities on board, and guests are welcome to dress up in fancy dress costume for these, or adopt the new ‘Smart Casual’ dress code as an alternative, as they desire.
Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines Currency:
GBP Pounds (Sterling) is the currency used on board.
Fred. Olsen Cruises Tipping: (Gratuities)
Gratuities are not included in the cost of your cruise.
Fred. Olsen pride themselves on the service offered to their guests, and are confident that you’ll wish to reward staff on board for this service, although tipping is entirely at your discretion.
As a general rule, gratuities are charged at £4.00 per person, per day for guests aged 12 and over. This is split between your stewardess and restaurant waiter, and will be automatically added to your on board account.
Please remember that gratuities, while very much appreciated, are voluntary and therefore can be adjusted or removed completely at Guest Services on board the ship if you wish.
Fred. Olsen Cruise Line Smoking Policy:
Fred. Olsen now operate a strict ‘no- smoking’ policy in all inside areas. Smoking is only permitted on room balconies (excluding Deck 7 Terrace Balconies on Black Watch and Boudicca) and on designated open deck areas.
Electronic cigarettes not emitting a vapour, may be used in rooms or on room balconies but, are not permitted in any non-smoking public area. They can easily be mistaken for a real cigarette and result in potential confrontation and necessitate staff intervention.
Electronic cigarettes emitting any vapour, even if only a water vapour, may only be smoked in designated external smoking areas.
