Black Watch Cruise Ship Refit

Why choose Black Watch?

Black Watch is often referred to as a ‘proper ship’ and this is evident in her sleek profile, built originally for long distance voyages. Complete with a wrap-around teak deck, the intimate and traditional style of her size allows friendships with fellow passengers to quickly form.

On board you will discover a welcoming atmosphere and a good standard of accommodation with a friendly ‘home from home’ feel. Passengers tend to be almost all British, over 60 and young in spirit if not body.

Black Watch 2016 Refurbishment:

Black Watch entered a dry-dock refurbishment programme in November 2016 at Hamburg, Germany which included general engineering and maintenance work.

Part of the refurbishment saw the addition of several new public areas and guest facilities created included a new self service restaurant, named ‘Brigadoon’, formerly  ‘The Braemar Garden Café’, which can seat 54 guests.

A speciality dining area, The ‘Black Watch Room’ replaces ‘The Braemar Courtyard’ for seating for up to 46 guests, offering made-to-order á la carte dining, including expertly-prepared steaks and seafood.

New furniture, carpets and curtains have been added to the ‘The Glentanar Restaurant’ with a more spacious layout.

‘The Poolside Grill’ is a re-branded and redesigned dining area offering a Mediterranean-themed culinary experience.

All 423 guest rooms on Black Watch have seen a new interactive in-cabin TV system installed, refurbished bathrooms with safes and mini-bars as standard.

The various bar and lounge areas on board Black Watch also received considerable attention including updated decor and fittings to the ‘The Observatory Lounge’ and the ‘Lido Bar’.

The Morning Light Pub has been relocated to what was once the Braemar Lounge on Deck 6 to offer a new more spacious area with a new bar, furniture and fabrics.

The Marina Cinema on Deck 3 has been completely updated with the latest ‘4K’ and ‘3D’ technology to allow for high definition films and 3D movies / programmes to be shown.
